Process Intensification Network Upcoming Meeting – Newcastle, 21 June

The Process Intensification Network (PIN) holds annual meetings, generally at Newcastle University, where delegates discuss many aspects of heat and mass transfer enhancement. Examples of previous talks are available on the web site – www.pinetwork.org

The next (27th) PIN meeting will be held in the Boilerhouse on the Newcastle Campus on Friday 21 June, hosted by David Reay and Adam Harvey, who heads the PI Group in Chemical Engineering.

As well as the venue, other topics to be discussed that have an interest to the heat transfer community include microwave heating (Nottingham University & AkzoNobel), solar thermal energy for pyrolysis (Birmingham University), and intensified carbon capture employing a rotating reboiler on the desorber (Newcastle University). Other contributions on compact reactors will of course relate to compact heat exchanger technology, which was a principal starting point for PI.

The Chemical Engineers at Newcastle have a micro-brewery (see www.stubrew.com ) and several examples of the StuBrew output will be available at a tasting after the meeting.

For further information on the meeting contact David Reay on DAReay@aol.com or click on the Eventbrite link on the PIN web site.
